  • It's hard to come clean with our true feelings about the Panasonic HM-TA20. We love its rugged, adventuresome design, but we can't call it a triumph. Despite appearances, the TA20 doesn't have the best grip due to its rigid design, and we did find i...

  • The Panasonic HM-TA20 has a comfortable, rugged design, easy operation, and just enough features to keep it competitive
  • For a rugged minicamcorder, the TA20's screen and lens are largely unprotected. It has a narrow lens, and there's no 720/60p resolution option
  • As rugged minicamcorders go, the Panasonic HM-TA20 is very good and definitely deserves consideration.

  • Toughest pocket Internet camcorder; Decent video performance
  • Fewer features than some competitors; Nonremovable battery

  • Abstract:  When Cisco killed off its industry-leading Flip in April, it created a vacancy for a new chief in the cheap, pocket-sized camcorder space, and Panasonic hopes to fill it with the HM-TA20. Of course, one of the reasons Cisco dumped the Flip is that it’s...

  • As an overall opinion, the new Panasonic HM-TA20 is a good and resistant camcorder , but it did let us down in regards to the waterproof function. The rigid design and the colors it comes in pleased us, as well as the colors in the recording. It did work...

  • The Panasonic HM-TA20 is far from faultless and suffers from a chunky design and poorly implemented software. Still, if you have kids, are into water sports or just need a survive-all camcorder to take on holiday with you, it can be a reliable compani...

  • Despite appearances, the TA20 doesn't have the best grip due to its rigid design, and we did find its memory card slot area wasn't as protected from water as we would have liked it to be. We also weren't crazy about the camcorder's menu system and touchsc...
