  • Solid construction, crisp images, built-in image stabilisation, larger than average controls, 32MB SD card supplied out of the box
  • Four-way control pad is fiddly to use, the provided AA batteries don’t last as long as rechargeable alternatives

  • Very good image quality Good 10x optical zoom range Optical image stabilisation helps with zoom and low light Very good 2.5" screen, Comfortable, compact, solid black body Orientation sensor Good battery life Focus assist light Excellent macro mode Goo...
  • Slow flash recharge time High chromatic aberations and purple fringing More noise than I would like to see Some vignetting when using the full 10x optical zoom
  • The Canon Powershot SX100 IS is almost the perfect pocket camera - it has almost everything you might possibly want from a camera, and manages to fit in your pocket! The only thing missing from the features list is a wide angle lens, and the only probl...

  • Full set of manual exposure controls; optical image stabilisation; electronic lens cover
  • Too easy to accidentally click instead of scroll when navigating; no optical zoom in movie capture
  • Though the Canon PowerShot SX100 IS produces excellent photos, other aspects of the camera -- some performance issues and operational annoyances, to name two -- dim its lustre ...

  • Abstract:  The Canon Powershot SX100 IS is a super zoom digital camera. It has 8 megapixels and a 10x optical zoom lens. Where the Powershot SX100 IS differs from many other similar cameras is that it is smaller in size. Despite this it still has a good range of...

  • Abstract:  Canon PowerShot spans a range as wide as the basic, no-frills A460 for 7k upto the advanced G9, S5 IS and TX1. The SX100 IS sits somewhere in the middle; a little larger but also packs a higher zoom and large LCD. The grey and silver trim is appe...

  • 10x zoom lens, optical image stabilization, PASM modes, good sharpness, well-implemented face detection, good macro mode, good battery life
  • Expensive, too large for a pocket, unreasonably high chromatic aberration, higher-than-acceptable noise content at higher ISO settings, LCD display washing out in bright light, long flash cycles

  • First-rate photo quality; full set of manual exposure controls; optical image stabilization; electronic lens cover.
  • Too easy to accidentally click instead of scroll when navigating; no optical zoom in movie capture.
  • Though the Canon PowerShot SX100 produces excellent photos, other aspects of the camera--some performance issues and operational annoyances, to name two--dim its luster.
