  • Abstract:  Earlier this year Nikon released the new flagship D500 camera as part of their DX range or cropped sensor line-up. It is fast and designed with a specific user in mind. It is also one of the first cameras Nikon has produced that is using Snapbridge, the n...

  • Abstract:  This article is a review of the Nikon D5000 DSLR camera. The Nikon D5000 is a 12.3 megapixel DX-format Nikon DSLR positioned in between the Nikon D60 and the Nikon D90. It provides the best of both worlds for its price point, and is ideally suited for...

  • Modestly priced with solid optics. Compact and light, good exposure and image controls in video mode, with versatile LED view screen.
  • Limited video shooting modes, typical DSLR ergonomics and audio issues.
  • You won’t find a less expensive DSLR option that has optics of this quality....

  • Abstract:  We’ve reached the point where most people now reach for a digital camera vs. a film camera to snap photos. In fact, many of you probably have at least a few years of digicam experience under your belt, possibly having started your digicam journey with ...

  • The D5000 is a good performing camera that offers more than the regular entry level features you would expect from other manufacturers in the same price range. Overall the features and value included in the unit are worth a look. The Nikon D5000 is a s...

  • Swiveling screen. While video settings are minimal, aperture adjustment lets you control depth of field.
  • Prepare to miss some great shots while you dig though multiple screens to make adjustments. Menus use ambiguous sample photos instead of words, which makes some controls indecipherable. Claustrophobic viewfinder and smallish 2.7inch LCD.

  • Image quality is excellent, D5000 provides great mix of manual control and ease of use for a DSLR, LCD can twist and swivel away from the camera, Battery life is good for DSLR camera, Good collection of printed materials quick start guide and user guide
  • Learning the function of each button could be time consuming, Autofocus can be slow, especially in low light, Experienced photographers will want more features, LCD could use more resolution
  • The Nikon D5000 DSLR camera is a camera that generated a lot of buzz upon its release. After I had a chance to review the Nikon D5000, I can understand the reason for the buzz. The D5000 is one of the best entry-level DSLR cameras I've had the chance...

  • The Japanese DSLR manufacturer enhances its consumer line-up between the former D60 and the D90 with the Nikon D5000 and delivers an excellent DSLR at a very fair price level. The D5000 features a great balanced CMOS image sensor with moderate 12.3 m...

  • Abstract:  In low light, the D5000’s clearer high-ISO modes perform better. We cranked the setting up to 2500 ISO before the noise seemed too distracting, but you could go even higher in a pinch. Images brightened up in this mode, helping us shoot in certain night conditions..

  • Excellent image quality, Strong low-light performance, Long battery life, Crisp HD video recording
  • HD movie recording lacks auto focus, Mediocre still photo focus in Live View mode
  • This top-notch DSLR delivers superb photos and HD videos, long battery life, and breathtaking low-light performance for a reasonable price.
