  • The Pentax Optio W80 is an easy-to-use, tough as old boots camera for all the family. Built to withstand virtually anything that you can throw at in (within reason of course), only so-so image quality lets the W80 down. The 5x wide-angle zoom is a rea...

  • Compact. 5x optical zoom. 28mm wide-angle lens. 720p30 HD-video capture. Fast startup and minimal shutter lag. Waterproof to 16 feet. Freeze-proof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Shock-proof to 3.3 feet.
  • Noisy images at ISO 200 and up. Visibly noisy video capture. Sluggish recycle time. Lens window protects against water and dings, but not fingerprints.
  • The $300 Pentax Optio W80 can shoot great pictures in bright conditions, but images captured at ISO 200 and above are noisier than average....

  • Abstract:  The Pentax W80 is their latest in a long line of waterproof cams that take decent shots, but have always been my favorite because of their compact size. This one is a bit bigger, but gains ruggedization and depth. The Price: $300 The Photos and ...

  • Abstract:  If you need a tough little compact digital for that scuba holiday or a bit of snowboarding, then this upgrade from Pentax is certainly rugged enough, but for the price the overall quality of the images - except those taken underwater - is unexpectedly...
