  • Zoom capability, backed up with built in Super SteadyShot image stabilisation to avoid the blurring effects of camera shake at the extreme telephoto end of the focal range. Plus the vividly colourful and sharp images that we expect from Sony
  • Mainly plastic build. AA power rather than dedicated lithiuim ion cell (though AAs are rechargeable). No removable media supplied with the camera out of the box.
  • Although its build is mainly plastic, the Sony H2 delivers vividly colourful and sharp images for a price that makes it worth further investigation....

  • Abstract:  Here is another quite good ultra-zoom from Sony. The Sony Cybershot DSC-H2, being very similar to the Sony H5, performs similarly. While it does produce useable pictures under typical lighting conditions, the H2 exhibits too much chromatic aberrations...

  • Abstract:  Click on the H2 for a 360° QTVR tourThese anti-blur technologies are an advantage when shooting in low-light conditions, such as outdoor shots in the evening or inside dark museums. These shots can be taken without a flash, resulting in naturally-expos...

  • Enthusiasts who either dont want, or cant afford, to stretch to a DSLR will get the most from the Sony Cybershot DSC-H2, along with beginners who eventually will want to do more than point and shoot without having to upgrade. It manages to satisfy b...

  • Very good image quality, Excellent colour rendition, Very good Multi metering, Stabilized 12X optical zoom, High definition EVF, Complete set of capture modes, Powerful flash, Good ergonomic design
  • JPEG compression occasionally a bit too strong at the highest image quality, No RAW or uncompressed format, A bit of distortion at the wide angle end and a slight chromatic aberration, Mediocre software
  • The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 bears a strong resemblance to the DSC-H1, but this new model has a number of modifications. The H2 has a 6-megapixel resolution and a stabilized 12X zoom. With the exception of the threaded metallic ring around the lens, the...

  • Excellent resolution, good edge-to-edge detail, Great color, good exposure, clean sharp results, Accurate and generally fast focus, Low shutter lag, Superb handling, comprehensive photographic controls, Jog dial makes manual / semi-automatic exposure very...
  • Some focus hunting at long end of the zoom (especially in low light), Images very slightly soft, Image stabilization doesnt seem quite as effective as competition, Small viewfinder (high resolution though), Screen smaller and lower resolution than model i...
  • We praised the H1 - Sonys first foray into this crowded part of the market - as not only a surprisingly mature, well-rounded product, but one offering performance and output that put it very near the top of the tree. The H2 doesnt add a great deal, ...

  • Nice long, stabilized 12x zoom, Very powerful flash, Good noise performance, Good image quality,
  • 2" inch LCD seems small (but keeps price down), Long flash charge time, Some controls a bit uncomfortable,
  • The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 is a solid offering in the ultra-zoom digital camera field. It takes good images at 6 megapixels and has a nice lens with good image stabilization. The flash is one of the most powerful that I've seen on a Point and Shoot ...

  • Quite fast, good shutter response, very good shot to shot speed Image stabilization works well, is a great help with a long zoom lens like the H2s Better than average color accuracy Very capable movie mode Very fast multi-burst mode, great for analyzi...
  • Slightly warm skin tones Auto white balance had a hard time with household incandescent lighting Rather contrasty default tone curve High chromatic aberration lens distortion, noticeable in some images at the edges Image noise high at ISO 400 and up; a...
  • Like the preceding Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H1, the Sony DSC-H2 offers optical image stabilization with a very long zoom lens. The Sony H2 provides more manual exposure control than many other long zoom digital cameras, yet is easy to use in full-auto mode,...

  • 12X zoom; image stabilization; decent selection of accessories.
  • Small LCD; large body; lots of noise at ISO 800 and above; no hotshoe.
  • The megazoom Sony Cyber Shot DSC-H2s long, image-stabilized lens should have the soccer moms drooling--as long as they stick to the lower ISO speeds.
