  • Large, high-resolution LCD, 10x optical zoom lens, Top-notch low-light performance, Good HD video quality,
  • Images are a bit soft, Finicky GPS, Disappointing 3D capture, No dedicated battery charger, Slow to start recording video,
  • The compact 10x-zoom Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V packs in features and delivers impressive, low-noise images even at its highest ISO. But it falls a bit shy of its predecessor in terms of image sharpness. ...

  • The Sony CyberShot DSC-HX7V is a great alternative to the more expensive HX9V, our favourite travel-zoom, featuring a more modest 10x zoom, slightly slower autofocus, and "only" 1080i video, but otherwise offering all of the same cutting-edge features...

  • The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V is a feature-filled compact megazoom with very good photo and video quality and fast shooting performance
  • The HX7V's photos aren't the sharpest, its interface can be sluggish, and there are a couple of minor design issues
  • There's very little not to like about the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V, as it solves common snapshot camera issues while still being relatively simple and fun to use.

  • AVCHD Full HD recording at 24Mbps, 25-250mm eq. lens with good telephoto capability for a compact, Ability to zoom in Movie mode, 3D still photo and panoramic capture, Manual control over shutter and aperture (though see Con regarding aperture), iSweep...
  • Superior Auto slow things down and doesn't always produce better results, Soft corners at wide angle, Noticeable chromatic aberration at telephoto, GPS can be slow to sync, Heavy noise suppression gives images a watercolor look, No control over NR leve...
  • The Sony HX7V meets HP's definition of a computer with a lens, and then some. First, you'll get a wide array of novel features, including the valuable iSweep Panorama and high definition video recording that will probably make you think twice about spl...

  • Abstract:  Sony says its camera takes two shots for every click of the shutter and combines them to create a “defocused” background like a DSLR would. Sony also adds in features like 3D image and panorama...

  • Abstract:  The Sony Cyber-shot HX7V is a 16.2MP point and shoot camera powered by Sony’s signature Exmor R CMOS sensor. The HX7V features a 10x optical zoom lens (25-250mm equivalent). I had the opportunity to handle the HX7V and capture a few images with it whi...

  • Automatic mode selection; great image quality; long zoom in a compact body
  • Some strange menu decisions
  • Sony could command far more than £250 or so for the impressive Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V compact camera. With a 10x zoom, tonnes of features, and a 16.2-megapixel sensor, it's shot to the top of our shopping list....

  • Abstract:  So it's versatile, but it's also well made and well-equipped. The screen is dagger-sharp and viewable even on a sunny day, and inside, as on most of Sony's latest cameras, you'll find a highly sensitive back-illuminated Exmor R sensor. This light-sucking 1...

  • Pleasant to use, good automatic settings, Highdefinition screen with wide viewing angles, Full HD video with stereo sound and optical zoom, Advanced image processing (accentuation varies in different parts of the shot)
  • Limited manual mode (only two aperture settings), GPS isn't sensitive enough, Using the GPS runs down the battery, Images can look overprocessed (smoothing of solid colours, for example)
  • The new features of the Sony Cyber-shot HX7V are clearly aimed at correcting flaws in the previous model. As a result, even if the 16 Megapixels aren't used to their full potential and the GPS is effectively useless, we can't find much wrong with this ...

  • If you are looking for a compact megazoom camera then the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX7V is surely worth giving a shot. Its low light photo quality, good shooting performance and unlimited features are some of the reasons why you should go for the gadget. It is ...
