Final Thoughts ]Generally speaking the Core i5 version of the Gigabyte BRIX, which is based on the Core i5-3337U processor, wasn’t overlay fast, at least by desktop standards. However for a computer that measures just 4.5 x 4.24 x 1.18" it was incred...

Decent everyday performance in a ridiculously compact package that's at least somewhat customizable as you outfit the barebones kit with your own RAM, SSD, WiFi module and OS.
Poor value compared to similar desktops/laptops, especially after you factor in the cost the abovementioned parts. Our build would have cost $750, which is hard to justify in our opinion.
Although there's no avoiding the fact that the Core i5-3337U isn't up to snuff with Intel's desktop chips, often falling behind even the Pentium G2020, the Gigabyte Brix is pretty snappy for a system that measures only 4.5 x 4.24 x 1.18". Both the i5-3337...
Tiny form factor, Good HD video playback, Dualchannel memory support
Limited connectivity, High price, No RAM or HDD included
In Gigabyte's attempt to out-Intel the NUC, it's fallen into the same trap as its forbears: the Brix is just too darned small. Considering these aren't portable devices you can use on the go, what's the point in shaving every possible millimeter when the...
Incredibly compact, Decent performance for its size, Supports multiple displays
No audio chipset, Expensive compared to a regular desktop
From a technical perspective, the Gigabyte BRIX GB-XM11-3337 is a tour-de-force, packing a commendable amount of computing power into an incredibly small space. However, it's hardly a cheap option. The price quoted in this review is without the mSATA sol...
Low power consumption, Highly responsive in productivity and general usage scenarios, Totally silent, Very compact, Attractive design, not a finger print magnet, Decent I/O selection, Supports 16GB RAM, Can achieve SATA III disk speeds, Dramatically faste
Only two USB ports, Very Expensive, particularly for CPU upgrades (about £100 to go from a Core i3 to a Core i5 and from a Core i5 to a Core i7) although this isn't something within Gigabyte's control as Intel dictate CPU, chipset and motherboard prices w
Gigabyte have taken Intel's NUC platform and turned it into a rather sexy looking powerhouse. It may not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but it packs a hugely impressive amount of performance for its tiny size. Gigabyte's BRIX is an innovative ta...

The Gigabyte Brix is a good alternative if you're looking for a compact mini pc. The use of notebook hardware allows for the very small size, and thanks to the mSATA SSD it's also pretty fast. Compared to the Intel NUC (Next Unit of Computing) DC3217IYE...
