Looks great and is perfectly sized
Outdated; doesn't support USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt, Expensive for the type of drive it is. 500GB model should be half it's current $80 price

Nowadays a 320 GB USB drive doesn't sound like much, especially one that costs US$99. However, the target audience for this drive isn't one who wants to back up dozens and dozens of HD video files or use the drive as a scratch disk for video editing. I...

We can’t fault the G-Drive Slim. It is very slim and fast, as well as being robust. The £78 price tag is good for a device of this quality too. If you’re after a portable drive to complement your MacBook Air, or any MacBook really, the G-Drive slim wo...
Abstract: Let’s be honest: the market is flooded with external hard drives at all capacities and prices. They’re all the same, right? Just pick one and you’re all set. Sorry, not that simple. The main purpose of an external hard drive is to back up the data on ...
Good design, Incredibly lightweight, Fast copy and duplication speeds,
Slightly expensive, Subpar results in Photoshop
Aside from its compact design, the G-Drive Slim doesn’t visually set itself apart from the pack, and it carries a slightly stiff price tag. But although it’s marketed as a companion external hard drive for MacBook Air users, it’s nonetheless a sleek, ...
Random 4K performance quite good, Very slim and light
USB 2.0 interface limits performance
If you have limited physical storage space, the G-Drive slim will appeal greatly to you. Given the OS X focus, we'd imagine it'll be some time before we see this with a USB 3.0 interface — yet we await that day with baited breath.

Not suited for heavy or professional usage, $109.95
I was impressed with the design and performance of Hitachi’s G-DRIVE slim. Its aesthetics and capabilities make it an appealing, portable storage and backup solution for mobile Mac users. Keep in mind that a 5400rpm model such as this may not be suitab...
Reasonably fast, Slim design, Similar styling to MacBook family
Case scratches easily, Audible during operation, USB only
Hitachi's G-Drive Slim is a slim portable hard drive designed to mimic Apple's aluminium unibody MacBook Airs and Pros. It's middling when it comes to performance figures but is definitely fast enough for the average user. We're more concerned with its ea...
