  • Speedier processor. Improved graphics performance. Optional high-res glossy or matte screen.
  • We’re still waiting for Thunderbolt to pay off.
  • Modest updates make small improvements on an already-great machine, but the optional anti-glare screen is something many Mac users have been clamoring for. Product 15-inch 2.2GHz Core i7 MacBook Pro Company Apple Contact apple.com Price $1799 Req...

  • Quality of the case, High-quality display, Very good input devices, Very quiet in low load scenarios
  • Case can get very hot, Down clocked 6770M graphics card, Loud under heavy load, Base configuration: low resolution, glossy display, Few interfaces, Throttling under heavy CPU and GPU load - likely because of an insufficiently dimensioned power adapter
  • The biggest disadvantage is the steep price which Apple charges for only one year warranty. Especially the high surcharge of 400 Euro for the reviewed 2.4 GHz model will only pay off for few users, as the base model with as the 2.2 GHz quad core and Radeo...

  • While I had a hard time recommending the base 15-inch MacBook Pro to users earlier this year, with the GPU upgrade I'm pretty happy with the $1799 configuration. It is pricey for sure, but if you can only have one Mac in your life and you like performance...

  • Awesome performance, Excellent battery life, Multi-touch gestures on touch pad work flawlessly with OS
  • Only a minor upgrade from previous version, Still lacks a Blu-ray drive and an HDMI port, Battery is not user-replaceable
  • With this fall 2011 update, Apple's middle-child MacBook Pro gets a slightly faster processor and more graphics muscle, keeping its performance well ahead of the competition. It's a minor update from the previous version, making the need to upgrade q...

  • Incremental updates to the CPU help keep the MacBook Pro line a step above the now-mainstream MacBook Air. The trackpad and gesture controls are still the best of any current laptop
  • Unless you need an optical drive, the MacBook Air may be a better fit for most, and the Pro still lacks things we'd like to see, such as HDMI, Blu-ray, and USB 3.0
  • A MacBook Pro is a significant investment, especially when adding in optional upgrades. Cost aside, there's not a better choice (there are, however, some close ties) for an all-around powerhouse that will work in the home, the office, and in between.
