  • WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display, Awesome hefty keyboard, Affordable price
  • Very old and low powered hardware inside
  • Hardware aside, the Panasonic Toughbook CF-52MK5 is quite good overall for a cheap, rugged laptop. I...

  • Still works after having water thrown on it, getting stomped on and being pushed off a desk; more portable than fully rugged laptop; can choose to upgrade RAM to 4GB....
  • Keyboard could be a bit cramped for larger hands, sold with dated Internet Explorer 6, ...
  • Great if you’re going to be taking it all-terrain or even if you’re just clumsy, but the dated browser will need upgrading. ...

  • Abstract:  The Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 is an interesting semi-rugged machine that offers performance, reliability and versatility. Sporting Panasonics trust-inspiring Toughbook design (compared to its unassuming looking CF-51 predecessor), the CF-52 is more th...

  • Passed drop tests and spill tests, High-res widescreen display, EV-DO Rev. A broadband, Nice assortment of ports
  • Slightly heavy, Tinny speakers
  • Theres a lot to like about the Panasonic Toughbook 52 ($3,093). A stunning widescreen display, better-than-average graphics, and a generous array of ports make this an excellent choice for those requiring a durable road-ready notebook. Beautiful Displ...

  • Abstract:  We've reviewed a fair few ToughBook's in our time, from the practically bullet proof CF-29 and CF-30 , to the super light semi-rugged delights of the CF-Y5 and plenty more besides. The ToughBook CF-52 I'm looking at today sits very much in the middle of t...

  • Built-in handle; doesnt skimp on connections; includes wireless broadband and 802.11n; extremely sturdy.
  • Bulky and heavy; vulnerable optical drive; not configurable.
  • If you need a laptop that can withstand a lot of abuse without spending a fortune on an all-out fully rugged model, the Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 offers ample peace of mind plus the latest Centrino Duo components.

  • Abstract:  Panasonics ToughBook notebooks are built for some of the most demanding environments and the latest iteration of the CF-52 is no exception. With a street price of about $2,500, the CF-52 offers a lot of bang for the buck. Keeping up with the Joneses h...

  • Resistant to accidental spills and can survive infrequent drops and bumps, PC Card and ExpressCard/54 slots, long battery life
  • DVD burner vibrated noticeably, handle makes the notebook bulky
  • For demanding users who tend to miss their mouth while they sip, or for anyone who is always using their notebook on the road, the semi-rugged Toughbook CF-52 is a worthy proposition. But it won’t withstand everything you throw at it. ...

  • Abstract:  Talk about long shelf life. In a world where notebook models are outdated and replaced within 12 months, it’s refreshing to see something with true staying power – the Panasonic Toughbook CF-52. This particular model has been around for about four yea...
