  • Abstract:  When it comes to budget laptops, the Toshiba Satellite L655-S5161 is a decent choice. It will not astound you with its features or design, but it combines all the basics you will need into an affordable package.

  • Fast Core i3 processor. Great battery life. Affordable. Good-looking design. Full size numeric keypad.
  • Loud mouse buttons. Keyboard design is not one of my favorites.
  • The Toshiba Satellite L655-S5161X budget laptop houses the latest parts from Intel, but is held back by a mediocre user experience. Buy it now...

  • The 15-inch Toshiba Satellite L655-S5161 is a good entry point for midsize laptops with Intel's second-gen Core i-series processors, and we've always liked the company's sleep-and-charge USB ports
  • The design is strictly no-frills, and there are no high-speed data ports, such as USB 3.0 or eSATA. Plus, we hate the shortened spacebar on the keyboard
  • Though not particularly inspiring, the basic 15-inch Toshiba Satellite L655 has a current-gen CPU and can be found for around $600, making it a worthwhile budget choice.

  • Above-average battery life, Good performance for price, Nice selection of preinstalled software
  • Overly glossy keyboard, Too-small space bar, Mediocre Webcam, Lackluster design
  • This Satellite has a dull design, but its above-average battery life and performance make it a good 15.6-inch laptop option for its $699 price. ...

  • 500GB hard drive. Spill-resistant keyboard. Little bloatware. Nice design.
  • Poorly placed touchpad. Below average speakers. Slow performance.
  • The Toshiba Satellite L655-S5155 makes up in user experience what it lacks in overall performance. This machine will fit all your basic e-mail, web browsing, and Word processing needs. ...

  • Large display. Keyboard includes 10-key pad. Attractive design.
  • Mediocre performance. Not for 3D gaming.
  • Priced just under $500, the Toshiba Satellite L655-S5096 is more physically attractive than it is an outstanding performer, but if you don't need to do anything too taxing there's nothing wrong with this sleek-looking laptop. ...
