  • Mio's A501 is a reasonable stab at melding both smartphone and sat-nav. It has a touch-screen, which mobile phones with sat-nav bolted on generally don't, and it's also smaller than most PDA phones with GPS. If you truly don't want to be bogged down with ...

  • Abstract:  Overall, the A501 is a stylish and highly portable device. If it weren for the rather poor connectivity and dated software, wed rate it a lot higher. However, if these issues don bother you, the A501 offers solid navigational performance and enough phon...

  • Decent sat-nav features; good phone features
  • No 3G or Wi-Fi; ugly design; sluggish performance
  • The Nokia N95 has set the benchmark for smartphones with sat-nav features and unfortunately the Mio DigiWalker A501 gets nowhere near it. The device packs plenty of features into a small space, but its sluggish performance, ugly design and lack of 3G ...

  • Abstract:  sat-nav and Pocket PC in one package: Mio has done well for itself in the mobile navigation world recently. While TomTom may make a lot of noise about its products, Mio stealthily increases its share of the market, to the point where, according ...

  • Abstract:  It is 9.5x6x2cm and weights only less than 150grams. The viewable screen is 5.5x4cm. As a GPS unit it works exactly the same as other recent Mio units reviewed.

  • Good satnav application, digital camera, focus on pedestrian routes
  • Windows Mobile 5, no keypad, touchscreen small, no 3G, No Wi-Fi
  • If you look at the Mio A501 as a GPS first and a phone/pda second then its cracking, but chances are your priorities will probably be around the other way, in which case you might be disappointed

  • Tons of GPS features; good GPS tracking; compact and light; full SD card slot; car cradle and charger included; autofocus camera and LED light.
  • 3G; no Wi-Fi; awkward joystick placement; needs an OK button.
  • Without the wireless options many users find essential these days, the Mio A501 will have a limited audience. For those who value having GPS, this little PDA-phone wont disappoint.
