  • Abstract:  The MP640's ChromaLife100 ink system may not be high fidelity with light magenta, light cyan (or even red and green) inks, but it does include four dye-based inks (black, yellow, cyan and magenta) and a pigment-based black text ink. Print lo...

  • The Canon PIXMA MP640 is a sharply designed printer that could be a great fit in many different environments. It is a 3-in-1 device that can scan-to a USB flash drive or automatically print a double sided at a touch of a button.Having said that, I wou...

  • Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, easy to use, great print quality, can print photos directly from USB flash drives
  • Can’t print documents from flash drives, some print quality issues with small text, compatibility issues with Mac OS X Snow Leopard
  • Canon’s PIXMA MP640 inkjet multifunction offers network connectivity, a sizeable colour LCD and USB flash drive support. It’s not a fast printer, but you can expect the same excellent print quality you get from other Canon inkjets. ...

  • Abstract:  Currently occupying a portion of my available workspace is the Canon PIXMA MP640. This is an All-in-One device that offers print, scan and copy capabilities while giving you a choice of USB or 802.11bg WLAN connectivity when connecting to your computer...

  • As a photo printer, the MP640 is every bit as good as a standalone machine, producing bright, vibrant and true results every time. In fact, it's an impressive performer all round, and Canon hasn't forgotten that even the longest feature list in the world is no substitute for quality.Usefully, you can set up plain and photo paper simultaneously, while duplex printing is as speedy as we've seen, wi
  • The MP640 is probably a bit of overkill for the average home user, and the downside of its flexibility is that some features may end up never being used. And while the MP600 series has generally aged well, the interface is starting to look dated, and we won't be surprised to see an overhauled touchscreen interface finding its way into Canon's next wave of releases.
  • The MP640 is by no means perfect, but that's forgiveable considering just how high it's aiming. Like most Pixmas, however, it does all the important things well, and does nothing badly, which is a good start. If you can justify spending this much on a ...

  • Very low running costs: 7.6 p per page, Fast printing: 13 ppm in blackandwhite, 25 seconds for a 4 x 6" photo, Low energy consumption: 18 W while working, 1 W on standby, Excellent quality photo printing, invisible ink drops, WiFi and doublesided...
  • Display not touchscreen, Colours not very accurate on scanner, Blackandwhite photo prints look pink, Printing speeds plummet (by three times!) when printing doublesided

  • Abstract:  You could be forgiven for not noticing Canon's new range of PIXMA all-in-one printers, as they all look very similar to their predecessors. Slightly different lines in their silver and black cases are probably not enough to distinguish them from last year...
