  • Sharpest screen in a small tablet, Fast A7 processor, Better FaceTime HD camera in low light, Vast array of high-quality apps, Superb battery life, Welcome iOS 7 improvements
  • Lacks Touch ID, Colors not as saturated as on iPad Air, Pricier than most small tablets

  • Camera not as good as on iPhones, No Touch ID fingerprint detector, Camera not as good as on iPhones, No Touch ID fingerprint detector
  • The iPad mini was a great size when it was introduced in the fall of 2012, and it's still a great size today. It's small enough to hold in one hand and read like a book, yet powerful enough to pivot into landscape orientation and get some work done. The ...

  • Abstract:  The iPad mini with Retina Display is now available to be purchased, if you can get your hands on one. Supply constraints look to make this a challenging task throughout the holiday season. This new addition to the iPad family of Tablets brings with it the...

  • Nearly identical in size but significantly evolved inside, this 7.9”screened tablet is five times as powerful as the original iPad mini, and only around 10% behind the iPad Air in overall performance. Retina display enables finedetail reading, web browsin
  • New 326 PPI Retina display matches past iPads in resolution but falls noticeably short in color performance; some screens also have image retention issues. Larger battery adds slightly to thickness and weight of original iPad mini. A7 processor speed matc
  • Concluding our review of the excellent iPad Air, we suggested that the key question in early November wasn’t so much whether the 9.7” screened device was better than the upcoming 7.9” Retina iPad mini, but how demand would cleave between these mo...

  • Abstract:  The tablet market doesn't look very different than it did a year ago from the perspective of who's doing well and who's not. Perhaps the most exciting developments came towards the end of 2012 and beginning of 2013 from the usual big guys: Google released...

  • Fast performance, Great display, Huge library of available apps
  • Some other great performing tablets cost less, Harder to use one handed than smaller, 7inch tablets
  • The Apple mini with Retina Display is every bit as great as the Apple iPad Air (Est. $500 and up) , but packed into a smaller tablet. You can argue about value, or grouse that the iPad mini with Retina Display is harder to use with one hand than competing...

  • The iPad Mini 2 has a sharp Retina screen, an ultraportable design, great battery life and it's the most affordable tablet with access to the iOS App Store. Upgradeable to iOS 10 later this year
  • Android and Amazon tablets -- and even Windows laptops -- are available for less. Base model includes only 16GB of non-expandable storage. It's missing the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and split-screen feature found on newer iPads
  • It lacks the features and speed of a cutting-edge iPad, but the Mini 2 is still a solid tablet for basics, especially if you can buy it at a discount...
