  • Abstract:  Way back in 1991 Rare developed Battletoads for the NES. While it was several years after that before I got to play it, I remember it for two things: it's one of the most difficult NES games I've ever played, and that friggin' Turbo Tunnel was partly resp...

  • Great writing and performances all around, Interesting minigames, Return of the turbo bikes is actually a lot of fun
  • Beat ‘em up combat is pretty samey, No online co-op
  • Battletoads (2020) keeps the soul of the notorious original game intact while revitalizing it with interesting minigames, hilarious writing, and couch co-op that makes this a worthy reason to revisit Zitz, Pimple, and Rash. While the absence of online co-...

  • Abstract:  Well, after being initially back in 2018, Rare's retro series has finally hopped out of the shadows into the modern world and plopped into the hands of new developer Dlala Studios. The question is, can these violent old amphibians prove their worth in a p...

  • Oftentimes hilarious writing, Solid beat 'em up combat, Coop minigames make it a great party piece, Rockin' sound track
  • Without friends (or alcohol) the minigames are tedious, Brawler segments are too brief
  • Source: Windows CentralI played through Battletoads with my brother, who is more of a fan of the original than myself. He was super happy with the game and felt that it remained true to the original NES classic with its wild genre variance and tough vehic...
