  • The Insignia is setup and designed to be a perfect entry point for a novice or budding HDTV enthusiast. It represents the bare essentials of what is needed to view HD content with little extra, In a noncritical environment, such as an office or game room, the NSL55X10A may prove to be ideal. The perfect scenario for purchasing an Insignia NSL55X10A would be for your child's college dorm room.
  • The NSL55X10A is not the TV you build a costnoobject or even a modest home theater around. If you have the means and the budget to even spend two to three hundred dollars more, the incremental increase in price you'll pay to buy a similar sized HDTV from Toshiba or Panasonic will pay huge dividends, The NSL55X10A's black levels are below average and rob the display of dimensionality and punch,
  • If you're in the market for a no-frills, bare essentials LCD HDTV that isn't going to break the bank, then the Insignia NS-L55X-10A might be for you. At just under $1,300 retail you'll get a very large set that is capable of displaying the latest 1080p...

  • Inexpensive. Five HDMI ports. Two-year warranty.
  • Uninspired design. Oversaturated colors. Some de-interlacing and motion-error issues. Lacks a USB port and Web connectivity.
  • If you can get past its lackluster design and somewhat antiquated feature set, the Insignia NS-L42X-10A is a solid deal for a 42-inch LCD TV. Just don't expect top-shelf performance from this bargain-basement set....

  • Abstract:  Video Review: With stereo speakers and 120HZ refresh rate, Best Buy's Insignia 42" LCD TV could be the best Black Friday deal yet at $699. Find out from Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn if this LCD is worth the wait in line. ...

  • Lots of customization options.
  • Mediocre audio; poor picture quality.
  • All the thoughtful design and usability features can’t compensate for an unpleasant viewing experience, and the NS-L42X-10A doesn’t come up with the goods in this vital area. ...

  • Abstract:  Insignia probably isn't the brand you see commercials for on TV, go into the store planning to buy, or frankly, brag to your friends about after you buy. But after strolling the show floor and getting a dose of name-brand sticker shock, it's the type ...

  • The Insignia NS-L32X-10A is a pretty cheap HDTV. Priced at about $850, this 42-inch 1080p display has a decent set of features, including 120Hz motion processing (Insignia calls it DCM Plus, for Digital Clear Motion) and a good selection of both digi...
