Abstract: Whether you've just gotten rid of cable or want to supplement your TV package with online video, now's an excellent time to buy a media streaming device. Compared to the typical smart TV, standalone streamers such as the Roku Streaming Stick and Amazon Fi...
Abstract: A couple years ago, or maybe even last year, you might have been wondering which streaming video box to buy yourself or stuff in a holiday stocking. Now, streaming video sticks — the tiny, plug-and-play counterparts to larger boxes — are emerging as a via...

If I seem unenthused, I'm not. It's a good product. I like it. I'm not disappointed. You can pick up a Chromecast 2.0 online at Walmart.com. No, they're not on Amazon because they're viewed as a threat to the Fire line of products. They're available pretty...
It's quicker than the old version and the new app is great. The built-in HDMI cable is a nice touch. Really, though, it just works really well, it's easy to use, and it's only $35,
Google still doesn't have a remote control for Chromecast, which makes it the only streamer I can think of that doesn't have one. You have to use your phone, tablet, or computer, which can be a pain in the arse, especially if you have to enter a password
If you don’t already have a Chromecast, then yeah, you should. $35 is so cheap for a device as capable and simple to use as this. But if you already have the original Chromecast, is it worth upgrading? I’d say that depends on how your current system is pe...
So is it worth it to upgrade to the 2nd gen Chromecast from the original? I wouldn't say so. That is, it's not $35 worth to upgrade. If you can sell the previous Chromecast or get a good discount on the new one, then maybe. In a nutshell, functionality is...
Shorter loading times than the old Chromecast, Performance improves each time you upgrade to a faster phone or tablet, Simple to set up and use
Not a good fit for people who don't keep their phones handy, No 4K resolution or 60-frames-per-second support, Support for Amazon Video seems unlikely for the foreseeable future
The new Chromecast isn't a significant improvement over the original; then again, it didn't need to be...

Although this device is an incremental update, it's definitely a strong one. A combination of faster hardware, a more powerful app, and allowing third parties to utilise ‘Fast Play' means an all-round improvement. So is it worth upgrading? Ordinarily...
Google's latest release into the media streaming market is a real winner. For $35 you're getting an incredibly well designed piece of hardware that looks cool and functions even better. The new antenna system works incredibly well and delivers a faster...
