  • Super easy setup, Get online in minutes, literally, 4 x Ethernet ports, Connections for external antennas
  • Limited service footprint, Not entirely mobile without battery power, 4G service is speed limited
  • If you need your home internet to be flexible and portable, or if you have trouble getting a standard connection, then Optus Home Wireless Broadband might be exactly what you need. Just be aware of its limitations...

  • Boosts home coverage; free calls
  • Uses lots of data; can be tricky to set up, $10 or $15 per month

  • Improves signal strength, Boosts 3G data speeds, Bundled free calls offset cost
  • Occasional lags during conversations, Call handover sometimes requires redialling a number, Only supports Optus mobiles
  • True to its promise, we noticed faster data and improved voice call quality overall, although lag was occasionally noticeable.

  • Relatively straightforward set-up, Works as advertised, Free call offer for primary user
  • Expensive for $49 plans and under, Uses ISP data, Range varies depending on dwelling
  • The Optus 3G Home Zone generally does what it advertises, providing close to full reception for nominated Optus mobiles, and the free call offer for the primary user is a nice enticement. However, we feel it should be cheaper for uses on $49 plans and und...
